How it works
A salary slip is the monthly statement your employer gives you showing what you earned, what was deducted, and what you actually received. The core formula is simple:
Net pay = (Basic + DA + HRA + allowances + bonus) − (PF + ESI + professional tax + TDS + other deductions)
- Earnings are everything credited to you: basic pay, dearness allowance, HRA, conveyance, medical, special allowance, and bonus.
- Deductions are taken out before payment: provident fund, ESI, professional tax, income-tax TDS, and any other deductions.
- Gross earnings minus total deductions gives the net pay that lands in your bank.

Frequently asked questions
What is a salary slip?
A monthly statement from your employer showing your earnings, deductions, and net pay. It is the standard proof of income for loans, visas, and background verification.
What should a salary slip include?
Company name, employee name and ID, pay month, a full earnings breakup (basic, DA, HRA, allowances, bonus), a deductions breakup (PF, ESI, professional tax, TDS), gross total, and net pay.
What is the difference between gross and net pay?
Gross is total earnings before deductions. Net (in-hand) is what reaches your bank after PF, ESI, professional tax, and TDS are subtracted.
Why enter deductions separately instead of one total?
A proper payslip itemises each deduction — lenders and verifiers expect to see PF, ESI, professional tax, and TDS on separate lines, not lumped together.
How do I save the slip as a PDF?
Click Print / Save PDF, then choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog. It works in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on desktop and mobile.
Is my salary data uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is computed in your browser — your figures never leave your device. Closing the tab erases them.
Can I use this slip for a loan application?
It works as a personal record, but banks usually want an employer-issued, signed or stamped slip. Ask your HR for an official copy for formal applications.
What is the difference between a salary slip and Form 16?
A salary slip is monthly and shows one month’s pay. Form 16 is the annual TDS certificate your employer issues after the financial year, summarising salary and tax for the whole year.
My employer doesn’t give salary slips. What can I do?
Ask HR in writing — employers are expected to provide pay slips. Meanwhile, this generator plus your bank statements can serve as your personal record.
Why does the slip say it needs no signature?
Computer-generated payslips are standard practice and don’t require a physical signature. For official use, some organisations still ask for a company stamp — check with whoever is asking.
